The ideal candidate is someone looking for a flexible "off-season" schedule (20 hours/week) with the ability to scale up to full-time (40+ hours/week) during the peak tax season.Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage accounts payable, receivable, and bank reconciliations for a diverse portfolio of small-to-mid-sized business clients.
Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of individual (1040) and corporate (1120, 1120-S, 1065) tax returns.
Financial Reporting: Generate and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Compliance: Handle payroll processing and sales tax filings as needed.
Client Support: Provide administrative and accounting support to firm leadership to ensure seamless operations.
Schedule & Availability
May through December: 20 hours per week (Flexible schedule).
January through April: 40+ hours per week (Mandatory for tax season).
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation within a public accounting environment.
Software Proficiency: Strong experience with QuickBooks (Desktop and Online) and professional tax software.
Local Residency: Ability to work on-site at the Homer Glen office.
Reliability: A proven track record of meeting strict deadlines, especially during tax season.
