Job Title: Janitorial Worker – Train Cart Cleaning Crew Member

Job Description

This role focuses on cleaning and detailing train cabins and carts to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. You will perform general janitorial and industrial cleaning tasks, including carpet cleaning, sanitizing surfaces, and waste removal, while following established procedures and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize interior surfaces of train cabins and carts, including seats, floors, windows, and common touchpoints.
  • Perform general janitorial duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces.
  • Carry out carpet cleaning tasks using appropriate cleaning products and equipment.
  • Use cleaning supplies, tools, and industrial equipment to detail train carts thoroughly and consistently.
  • Remove trash and waste from train carts and dispose of it in designated areas while maintaining cleanliness standards.
  • Restock basic cleaning and sanitary supplies in designated areas as needed.
  • Follow all established safety protocols, cleaning procedures, and guidelines for chemical and equipment use.
  • Inspect train carts for cleanliness and report any maintenance, damage, or safety issues to the supervisor.
  • Work independently and manage time efficiently to complete assigned cleaning tasks within the scheduled shift.
  • Collaborate with other crew members as needed to ensure all train carts are cleaned and ready on time.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing general labor or janitorial duties in a cleaning or industrial environment.
  • Ability to perform janitorial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and surface sanitizing.
  • Comfort using cleaning products, tools, and basic industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Capability to perform carpet cleaning following provided instructions and procedures.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, cleaning checklists, and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure train cabins and carts meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation to and from the train facility.
  • Willingness and ability to work scheduled weekend shifts and evening start times on weekdays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous janitorial, custodial, or industrial cleaning experience is beneficial.
  • Experience working in transportation, facilities, or similar environments is an advantage.
  • Comfort working around trains and in an active industrial facility.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, with consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to adapt to changing cleaning priorities or tasks as needed.

Work Environment

This is an on-site role at a train facility, working as part of a train cart cleaning crew. The work takes place in and around train cabins and carts in an industrial setting. The schedule includes weekend shifts on Saturdays and Sundays, starting at 11:00 AM, with shift lengths of approximately 4–5 hours per day. Weekday work typically begins around 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to coordinate with contractors. You will regularly use cleaning products, tools, and equipment suitable for industrial and carpet cleaning. The environment may involve exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and outdoor conditions when moving between train carts. Appropriate work attire suitable for industrial cleaning, including closed-toe shoes and clothing that can withstand contact with cleaning agents and equipment, is expected

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlantic Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
