IT Specialist I
- Performs field installation and support of hardware, software, and peripherals throughout the City; schedules installations, delivers equipment, converts old system data, tests installations, leads PC refresh projects, uses disk imaging tools, and provides initial user training.
- First line of contact providing Tier 1 desktop support in a Microsoft Windows environment; handles calls, emails, and walk-ins; resolves issues and provides excellent customer service and teamwork.
- Provides training to departmental users on supported systems and Citywide initiatives.
- Orders office supplies and device equipment; manages inventory, loaner equipment, Track-IT queue, IT voicemail, and monthly account review
- Provides setup support for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Mobile Command Bus, drills, and simulated emergency operations.
IT Specialist II
- Performs field installation and support of hardware, software, and peripherals throughout the City; schedules installations, delivers equipment, converts old system data, tests installations, leads PC refresh projects, uses disk imaging tools, and provides initial user training.
- First line of contact providing Tier 1 desktop support in a Microsoft Windows environment; handles calls, emails, and walk-ins; resolves issues and provides excellent customer service and teamwork.
- Provides training to departmental users on supported systems and Citywide initiatives.
- Orders office supplies and device equipment; manages inventory, loaner equipment, Track-IT queue, IT voicemail, and monthly account review
- Provides setup support for Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and Mobile Command Bus, drills, and simulated emergency operations.
- Requires in-depth training in Windows OS; competency diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, customizing, and operating personal computers.
- Troubleshoots, configures, and manages wired and wireless networks.
- Installs and administers Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, including monitoring voltage, battery health, firmware updates, automated shutdowns, maintenance, alerts, and reporting.
- Responsible for COMTV media player hardware/software administration, account management, network settings, digital signage infrastructure, content distribution, scheduling, and structured cabling standards (Cat6/6A/Fiber).
IT Specialist I
- Associate Degree in Computer Operations or Support or related field; supplemented by two (2) years of progressive responsible experience in Laptop/Desktop/Mobile hardware and software support (all aspects including OS deployment & HW break fix) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
IT Specialist II
- Associate Degree in Computer Operations or Support; supplemented by four (4) years of progressive responsible experience in Laptop/Desktop/Mobile hardware and software support (all aspects including OS deployment & HW break fix) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must possess a valid Virginia’s driver’s license
