The Position

The IT Operations Coordinator supports the effective operation of IT services by overseeing procurement activities such as purchasing, payments, inventory, and contract management. This role maintains IT documentation and the IT website, coordinates IT events, and ensures IT office supplies are available and well managed. The position will eventually also serve as secondary Helpdesk support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and monitor IT procurement activities, including the processing, tracking, and reconciliation of technology-related purchases to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with institutional procedures.
  • Manage IT software contracts, including tracking terms, coordinating renewals, and supporting vendor relationships to ensure continuity of services and cost-effective licensing.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date IT asset inventories, ensuring proper documentation, lifecycle tracking, and audit readiness.
  • Maintain, update, and publish external-facing IT documentation, including content for the IT website and IT self-service knowledge base, to support clear communication and user self-support.
  • Coordinate and oversee IT-related events, ensuring effective planning, logistics, communication, and execution in support of departmental and institutional initiatives.
  • Coordinate, schedule, and support IT meetings, including securing meeting spaces and appropriate resources to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide secondary-level Help Desk support, assisting with issue resolution, service requests, and escalation support as needed to maintain service continuity and user satisfaction.
  • Adhere to and support compliance with data information security standards and all applicable college policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of the operational and strategic objectives of the Information Technology office.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of Business related experience
  • Experience in higher Education preferred
  • Effective communication with managers, coworkers and clients
  • Provide excellent client service
