SSU is currently recruiting for Inventory Specialist to support the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers. This opportunity is contingent upon awarded contract. Duties and Responsibilities: The primary purpose of the inventory specialist is to ensure that supplies and material are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics to include sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instruments sets, and equipment. Assignments include but are not limited to scanning, barcoding, receiving, storing, and the distribution of medical and surgical supplies, instruments, and other material. Duties include but are not limited to: •Strategic Planning: Qualified at forecasting short- and long-range inventory needs and analyzing supply chain performance. •Asset Management: Skilled at managing expendable and non-expendable equipment (NX) and maintaining accurate Equipment Inventory List (EIL) accounts. •Problem Resolution: Capable of acting as a central point of contact for resolving logistics problems across different organizational lines. •Cost Analysis: Proficient at conducting analysis of cost savings, historical usage patterns, and process improvements. •Accountability: Skilled at initiating Reports of Survey (ROS) for lost or damaged property and managing excess property disposal. •Software Analytics: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and knowledge of federal acquisition regulations. Qualifications: •Bachelor’s degree •Advanced use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and data analysis tools. •One year of specialized experienced in medical inventory forecasting and system management.
