Job Description

The Inventory Control Coordinator plays a key role in supporting integrated laboratory services by managing inventory, stockroom operations, and basic lab support activities on-site at the customer facility. In this position, you help ensure that laboratory staff always have the materials and supplies they need, while maintaining accurate records, following standard operating procedures, and providing professional, service-oriented support. This is a long-term contract role that offers the opportunity to work in a scientific environment and contribute to work that impacts global health, safety, and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site program replenishments and disbursements to ensure laboratory supplies and materials are available when needed.
• Carry out stockroom duties including receiving incoming materials, putting away inventory, rotating stock, conducting cycle counts, and performing other stockroom functions according to customer requirements.
• Process laboratory glassware, including collection, cleaning, and redistribution, in accordance with established procedures.
• Support biological waste processing by following proper handling, segregation, and disposal procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Receive and reconcile chemical inventory, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of materials.
• Deliver direct shipment orders and other materials to end users throughout the facility, completing required deliveries accurately and on time.
• Work within computer systems to access, follow, and document standard operating procedures and inventory transactions.
• Use handheld scanners and other tools to enter data into various systems, maintain accurate inventory records, and reconcile reports as needed.
• Proactively communicate any customer concerns, service issues, or potential problems to the supervisor in a timely manner.
• Address customer concerns effectively within established resolution timeframes while maintaining a professional and service-focused approach.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and work safely in complex laboratory and facility environments.
• Use material handling equipment such as pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, and forklifts to move, push, or pull materials as required.
• Perform manual material handling tasks, including lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, and walking or standing for prolonged periods.
• Adapt to working in varied temperature environments such as cold rooms or outdoor areas as needed.
• Work overtime or independently when required to meet operational needs.
• Perform other related responsibilities and duties as assigned to support the overall success of the on-site service program.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 year of experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
• Experience working in customer service is a plus.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.
• Professional appearance and demeanor in all interactions.
• Strong desire to serve the customer and ability to collaborate effectively with various levels of personnel at the customer site.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners and enter data accurately into inventory and related systems.
• Basic analytical skills to review and reconcile inventory and related reports.
• Computer proficiency with basic skills in the Microsoft Office suite (such as Word, Excel, and Outlook).
• Organizational and time-management skills to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Ability to understand and work safely within complex laboratory and facility environments while following all policies and procedures.
• Capability to regularly lift 30–40 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push or pull up to 100 lbs using equipment such as pushcarts, pallet jacks, mobile cylinders, or forklifts.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform manual material handling tasks (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting) for extended periods.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime or independently as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience as a material handler or experience with inventory control is beneficial.
• Prior experience in a laboratory or scientific environment is preferred but not required.

Work Environment

This role is based on-premise at a customer site with an air-conditioned facility and may include work in laboratories, stockrooms, cold rooms, and occasionally outdoor or varied-temperature areas.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Dallas,TX.
