About The Role
Our firm is partnering with a large, global organization in the science, research, and innovation industry to identify an Inventory Assistant to support multiple onsite stockrooms within a research-focused campus environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring researchers have timely access to essential materials while maintaining accurate, safe, and well?organized inventory operations.
Job Description
As an Inventory Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting three non-chemical stockrooms on a research campus. This position focuses on maintaining appropriate inventory levels, fulfilling internal orders, and ensuring stockrooms remain clean, safe, and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Pulling and assembling orders based on stockroom and researcher needs
- Monitoring inventory levels to minimize overstock while preventing stockouts
- Verifying receipt of orders and accurately putting away inventory
- Maintaining organized shelves and updating inventory records and documentation
- Processing returns, requesting supplier credits, and tracking backordered items
- Coordinating with vendors, internal customers, and team members via email and in person
- Supporting ongoing projects and day-to-day operational tasks as they arise
- Ensuring all stockroom locations meet safety, cleanliness, and organizational standards
This role requires strong attention to detail, follow-through, and a customer-focused mindset in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous experience in inventory, stockroom, warehouse, or supply support roles
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Attention to detail with the ability to balance competing priorities
- Comfortable communicating with vendors, customers, and team members
- Ability to perform physical job duties, including:
- Lifting up to 25 lbs
- Standing, bending, sweeping, and general stockroom cleaning as needed
Preferred
- Experience with purchasing or inventory management systems
- Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise systems
- Experience working with Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
- Prior experience supporting laboratory, research, or technical environments
