As an Internal Communications Manager, you oversee internal communications for the Cleveland Clinic Florida region, including developing editorial content for publications, newsletters, and digital media. In this role, you ensure communication projects are managed efficiently and delivered on time to support the organization’s marketing objectives, and you report to the Senior Director of Communications for the Florida region.

A caregiver in this role works remotely from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must be flexible to provide 24/7 on-call support for crisis communications and public relations.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Project manager and/or communication consultant in developing communication strategies for corporate and multidisciplinary projects, publications or collateral for various client areas including administrative, clinical, research and education institutes or departments.
  • Act as liaison between client areas and marketing staff.
  • Ensure deadlines and timelines are adhered to including overseeing deadlines of freelance writers.
  • Collaborate with client areas and graphic designers to determine appropriate graphic presentation of copy.
  • Conduct interviews with physicians, institute/department chairmen, clinicians, patients and other sources.
  • Write and edit copy for newsletters, brochures, direct mail pieces, displays and other collateral materials, as well as speeches and copy for the intranet and website.
  • Supervise junior writers and/or freelance writers.
  • Conduct secondary research for publication development.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary clinical projects such as annual reports and special one-time publications.
  • Measure and track internal communications metrics, and utilize analytics to improve offerings and optimize response and ROI evaluation.
  • Participate in marketing meetings, task forces and groups.
  • Serve on various committees throughout the organization.
  • Serve as part of communications team for emergency operations management.
  • Assist in public information officer duties as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
  • Six years of experience in a communication/marketing function to include experience in writing, editing, researching and preparing material for publication
  • Knowledge of communication practices in healthcare or other industries
  • Effective interpersonal skills needed to conduct interviews with physicians, nurses, patients and people at all levels inside and outside the organization

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Creativity and experience with publication production
  • Healthcare internal communications preferred for a medium-large scale health
  • care setting
  • Familiarity and experience supporting multiple locations across one region
  • Substantial Writing Experience in representing CEO, Chief of Staff, Hospital Presidents, Executive Leader Communications
  • Change Leadership, Change Management, Crisis and Emergency Communication Experience
  • FEMA Certified Public Information Officer Certification
  • Experience with Content Governance in a cross-functional setting across multiple
  • enterprise locations and multi-media channels (ie' Intranet experience)
  • Public Relations Experience
  • Institutional Cleveland Clinic knowledge
  • Ability to be available 24/7 for crisis communications/PR Related needs
  • Editorial AP Style Experience and Management
  • Data and Analytics Performance Tracking to optimize existing communication strategy, familiarity and experience with a variety of digital analytics tools
  • Microsoft Dynamics, Share Point and Google Analytics experience
  • Payer Negotiation Communication Experience, writing communication plans for negotiations for insurance companies

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent sitting, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
  • Requires the ability to walk to various locations.
  • Able to function in a stressful environment.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 15 pounds.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50
