Patent Specialist (Coordinator-Level) | Houston, TX (onsite)
$36–$40/hour (equivalent to ~$75K annually)

A top-tier Houston-based intellectual property law firm is seeking a Patent Coordinator (posted as Patent Specialist for visibility) to join its growing team.
This is a high-impact, workflow-driven role supporting patent attorneys and agents by ensuring client requests, filings, and deadlines are handled with precision and urgency.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as the central hub for patent-related requests coming through shared inboxes and intake channels
- Triage and categorize requests including filings, office action responses, and formal documents (IDS, assignments, POAs, etc.)
- Route work to attorneys, agents, paralegals, and docketing with accuracy and speed
- Track tasks, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely completion across matters
- Partner closely with docketing to ensure critical dates are properly calendared
- Utilize workflow systems and AI tools to streamline intake, tracking, and communication
- Maintain visibility across multiple active requests and escalate risks when needed
