Integration Engineer

We are looking for an Integration Engineer to join a fast-moving migration project at a confidential client. An internal resource has been handling the transition from ActiveBatch to MuleSoft and now needs to shift to another priority.


This is a short-term contract role (2–3 months) where you will hit the ground running supporting integration work, data movement, and operational hand-off.


Job Title: Integration Engineer – Contract (ActiveBatch → MuleSoft Migration)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States (Remote candidates welcome)

Employment Type: Contract (2–3 months)


Location & Work Style:

  • Ideally local to Chicago (but fully open to strong remote candidates)
  • 100% virtual interview and work


Contract Details:

  • Duration: 2–3 months
  • Start Date: ASAP


What You’ll Bring:

SQL – Intermediate (Working / Analyst Level) - You can write reliable production queries and moderate scripts.

Required experience includes:

  • Complex joins across multiple tables
  • Subqueries and CTEs (WITH)
  • Window functions (ROW_NUMBER, RANK, LAG, etc.)
  • Conditional logic (CASE)
  • Basic stored procedures
  • Transactions (BEGIN/COMMIT/ROLLBACK)
  • Data validation & rollback scripts
  • Building reporting datasets and supporting ETL processes


MuleSoft – Beginner (Associate Developer) - You can build simple integrations in Anypoint Studio.

Required experience includes:

  • Basic Mule flows (HTTP Listener → Transform → Logger)
  • DataWeave fundamentals (simple mappings)
  • Connectors (HTTP, Database, File)
  • Basic error handling (On Error Continue)
  • API testing with Postman


ActiveBatch – Beginner (Operator / Basic User) - You can support daily batch operations.

Required experience includes:

  • Navigating the ActiveBatch Console / Web Console
  • Running jobs manually and monitoring status
  • Viewing logs and basic troubleshooting
  • Understanding job dependencies at a high level
