Integrated Circuit Design Engineer

Job Description: Senseeker is seeking an integrated circuit (IC) design engineer to join our IC team and perform 65 nm to 180 nm CMOS mixed-signal design for our readout integrated circuits (ROICs). Responsibilities include digital and analog IC design, simulation, layout, and verification; developing behavioral models in Verilog/Verilog-A; contributing novel ideas to the company’s IP portfolio; interfacing with customers; staying current with state-of-the-art technologies; and maintaining clear, well-organized documentation. You will also help improve our EDA tool flow and overall efficiency. You should be comfortable working in a relaxed small-business environment and be able to independently drive tasks to completion when needed.

Required Education & Work Experience: Master’s degree in electrical/computer engineering with an emphasis on IC design and a minimum of two years of work experience. 

Required Attributes: 

• US person status required for this position, pursuant to the terms of government contracts with Senseeker*
• CMOS integrated circuit design, simulation, layout and verification experience
• Knowledge of high-density arrayed low-noise analog design and layout techniques
• Knowledge of high-speed mixed-signal design and layout techniques
• Proficient in Verilog, Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS modeling
• Solid understanding of solid-state device physics
• Excellent teamwork skills, good written and verbal communication and a self-driven approach to work
• Previous tapeout experience is a must

Desired Attributes:

• Practical design experience with digital converters (ADCs/DACs), PLL/DLL, SerDes, image sensors and digital readout ICs
• Proficient in image sensor characterization and noise analysis
• Comfortable with multiple CAD tools and foundry PDKs
• Experience with digital synthesis tools
• Experience with Siemens EDA flow (Tanner/Symphony/Calibre) is a plus

Job Type and Location: Full-time in Santa Barbara, CA, USA

Salary Range: $120,000 to $160,000 annually depending on education and experience
