This role offers the opportunity to work alongside accomplished attorneys in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while supporting complex insurance defense litigation cases.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in all phases of insurance defense litigation, from case inception through trial.
Draft, review, and prepare legal documents, pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and trial exhibits.
Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to insurance defense matters.
Manage and organize case files, medical records, expert reports, and deposition summaries.
Coordinate and track court deadlines, depositions, hearings, and trial schedules.
Assist in fact investigation, witness interviews, and document review to support case development.
Prepare for trials, mediations, and depositions, including organizing trial binders and exhibits.
Review and summarize medical records, accident reports, and insurance policies.
Work closely with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
Qualifications:
Experience: 3+ years of experience as an insurance defense legal assistant in a law firm setting.
Skills:Strong knowledge of insurance defense litigation, court procedures, and case management.
Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis), e-filing systems, and document management software.
Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records and insurance policies is a plus.
