As an Insulator Journeyperson, you will:

  • Responsible for the installation and or removals of insulation of any component onboard ships in various stages of repair and modernization.

  • Measures, cuts, and fabricates materials for insulation application to Bulkheads, Overheads, piping systems to and vent ducts, machinery and equipment to reduce loss or absorption of heat, prevent moisture condensation, and to deaden sound.

  • Performs related tasks as assigned to some of which may become essential to the position.

  • Knowledge of piping systems, layout patterns for hull board and lagging materials

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High school graduate or equivalent, Experience with a minimum of 3 years related experience in all facets of insulation on Military and or commercial vessels.

  • Ability to read and comprehend Specifications and Drawings.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Experience with insulation materials and techniques

  • Knowledge of shipyard operations and safety protocols



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $61360 - $93662

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
