Our challenge

We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Infrastructure Engineer to work with regulatory technologies to streamline compliance processes within our organization. The ideal candidate will stay updated on the latest developments in regulatory technologies, design and implement data feeds, and collaborate with IT and data teams to optimize data ingestion processes. This role will also involve analyzing compliance data, generating reports, and supporting the development of e-communications compliance frameworks.


Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $75k - $100k/year & benefits (see below).


The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server (2016–2022), Linux/UNIX environments, and core services such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Manage and support compliance-driven systems including archiving, secure messaging, and electronic record retention platforms
  • Monitor system performance, ensure high availability, and apply System Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve reliability and scalability
  • Perform database administration tasks for SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB including performance tuning, backup, and recovery
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash to streamline operational processes
  • Handle incident and problem management, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence
  • Utilize tools such as ServiceNow for ticketing, tracking, and reporting of incidents and service requests
  • Support and maintain enterprise applications including Apache Tomcat, IIS, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Citrix, and VMware
  • Ensure systems adhere to regulatory compliance, audit requirements, and data retention policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and support ongoing projects and system enhancements
  • Continuously evaluate and improve system architecture, operational processes, and monitoring capabilities
  • Provide technical guidance, best practices, and documentation to support team knowledge sharing and operational excellence


Requirements:

You are:

  • Experience working with critical systems in regulated environments and compliance-driven operations
  • Strong experience in archiving, secure messaging, electronic record retention, and regulatory compliance systems
  • Expertise in Windows Server Administration (2016–2022) and troubleshooting across Linux/UNIX environments
  • Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Strong database management experience in SQL Server, Oracle, and MongoDB
  • Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation and operational efficiency
  • Experience in incident and problem management, including monitoring and root cause analysis using tools like ServiceNow
  • Understanding and application of System Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to improve system performance and availability
  • Hands-on experience with application servers and tools such as Apache Tomcat, IIS, and Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, Tableau, Citrix, and VMware
  • Strong knowledge of compliance, archiving, and regulatory support processes, including audit and data retention requirements


It would be great if you also had:

  • Experience in compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements related to e-communications.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data integrity best practices.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and risk assessment methodologies.
