The County of San Luis Obispo’s Information Technology Department is seeking an IT Technician for the IT Support team. This position will primarily provide support for the Countywide Service Desk.

About the Opportunities
We are looking for multi-skilled candidates with technical support experience to support County users across all departments. The IT Technician will provide the first contact for support needs and will need a broad range of technical and interpersonal skills. This position is responsible to field incoming telephone calls and emails, apply troubleshooting skills, and attempt to resolve customer issues. When it is necessary to escalate support tickets, it is expected that thorough documentation is included and that tickets are routed to the proper team.

Either A: Equivalent to the completion of an Associate Degree with major coursework in computer science, information technology, or a related field. OR B: Certificate in Information Technology (CIT) or equivalent AND one year of experience involving the applications and operations of computer equipment.Licenses and CertificatesCertain positions within this classification may require driving. When driving is an essential function of the position, a validCALIFORNIAdriver's license is required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
