Title: IT Asset Manager

Job Summary
This role supports IT Infrastructure Governance with primary responsibility for IT hardware and software lifecycle management, procurement, financial tracking, and vendor coordination. The position partners with technical teams, procurement, and suppliers to manage purchasing, renewals, compliance, and reporting across multiple IT domains. This is a remote role supporting CST/CDT hours with potential for extension.
Responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end IT hardware and software lifecycle activities, including quoting, purchasing, renewals, contracts, and vendor relationships.
- Partner with technical teams, procurement, and suppliers to gather requirements, coordinate purchases, and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Lead and facilitate technical and supplier meetings; document decisions, track action items, and ensure timely follow‑through.
- Submit and track purchase orders, renewals, and contracts through Workday; manage invoicing, budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate asset and contract documentation, including CMDB updates for hardware and software.
- Track end‑of‑maintenance and renewal dates; proactively initiate renewals and licensing reviews.
- Research software entitlements and licensing compliance issues and coordinate resolution with appropriate teams.
- Review and approve vendor invoices; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare operational, financial, and leadership‑level reports and presentations.
- Identify and implement operational and process efficiency improvements.
- Communicate risks, issues, and status clearly; escalate when appropriate.
- Apply strong project management practices, including organization, prioritization, problem solving, and follow‑up.
Years of Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, PMP, or a related discipline, or equivalent IT work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands‑on IT experience across multiple disciplines, including IT operations support (data center, systems, networking, end‑user computing).
- Demonstrated experience with IT hardware and software purchasing, contracts, renewals, financial management, asset management, CMDB updates, and software licensing/entitlements.
Skills Required
- Broad IT technical background across multiple infrastructure and operations areas.
- IT contract management and procurement experience for hardware, software, and services, including renewals, negotiations, and PO management.
- Financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, and cost tracking.
- Asset management and CMDB experience using tools such as Workday and ServiceNow.
- Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to multitask and drive issues to resolution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Teams).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interaction with senior and executive leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience working across cross‑functional teams.
- Proven ability to identify and implement operational improvements.
