Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing building systems, equipment, and machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently in alignment with company and customer objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on production and facility equipment.
  • Observe devices in operation to identify sources of mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Remove, examine, and replace defective parts using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery, building systems, and support equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used in a clear and accurate manner.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, technical diagrams, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Support and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including identifying and repairing leaks or component failures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled equipment and related control systems.
  • Perform electrical maintenance, including work on 3-phase systems and AC/DC, high and low voltage circuits, in accordance with safety standards.
  • Maintain and repair conveyor systems and other material handling equipment.
  • Carry out basic plumbing repairs and maintenance as needed.
  • Perform welding tasks as required for equipment repair or fabrication.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to minimize production interruptions and support continuous improvement.
  • Align daily maintenance activities with company and customer objectives for safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Work independently during assigned shifts while effectively communicating status updates and issues to the team.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electricity, including AC/DC and high/low voltage systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment and systems.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in basic math, including fractions, decimals, and units of measure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting work and managing tasks.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, multi-task environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance programs for industrial machinery and building systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting and working with PLC controls and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase power systems and related electrical maintenance practices.
  • Experience with conveyor and conveyor system maintenance and repair.
  • HVAC maintenance or repair experience in an industrial or commercial environment.
  • Welding skills for equipment repair and light fabrication.
  • Basic plumbing maintenance and repair experience.
  • Prior experience in a maintenance technician role within a manufacturing facility.

Work Environment

This position follows a 2-2-3 schedule on a 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. shift, with initial training conducted on day shift. The work takes place in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility where conditions can vary with the seasons. You will work around industrial machinery, conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and electrical systems, using tools and diagnostic equipment common to an industrial maintenance setting. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, requiring adherence to all safety procedures and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clarksville, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.89 - $28.89/hr.
