Industrial Engineer

Job Description

The Industrial Engineer is a key problem-solver, change agent, resource, designer, and project manager. You will be responsible for driving manufacturing initiatives, including Process Flows, Value Stream Mapping, 5S methodologies, and evaluation of large data sets. Your objective will be to provide new, more streamlined processes and efficiencies for the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Drive manufacturing initiatives including Process Flows and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Implement and maintain 5S methodologies.
  • Evaluate large data sets to identify process improvements.
  • Design and manage engineering projects to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct time studies and implement lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensure continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Collaborate with production support teams to optimize process flows and line balancing.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Strong skills in process flow design and time studies.
  • Experience with manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and project management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in tooling design and engineering.
  • Knowledge of OEE and data evaluation for process improvement.
  • Experience with change process flow and manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

This role is located in a large manufacturing facility of nearly 500,000 square feet, specializing in sheet metal fabrication for shelving units. The environment is somewhat noisy due to fabrication and production lines. Engineers will primarily work on the manufacturing floor but will have office spaces for meetings and desk work. The facility offers a flexible work schedule, a casual dress code, and a laid-back work environment. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $105000.00/hr.
