Job Title: HVAC Test Technician

Job Description

This short-term contract role focuses on testing and inspecting HVAC chillers, troubleshooting issues, and clearly communicating test results to both customers and internal teams. The position is ideal for an experienced HVAC professional who enjoys hands-on work in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and inspection of HVAC chillers and related temperature control units according to established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC systems to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues.
  • Conduct HVAC testing activities, including functional checks, performance verification, and documentation of findings.
  • Inspect HVAC controls and components to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
  • Accurately record and report test results and inspection findings in a clear and organized manner.
  • Communicate test results and identified issues to customers and internal team members in a professional and timely way.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production personnel to resolve technical issues discovered during testing.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment while working in the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and properly handle tools, test equipment, and materials.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of HVAC troubleshooting experience.
  • At least 1 year of HVAC testing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with HVAC inspection and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls and their operation in chiller and temperature control systems.
  • Refrigerant Certification (must have).
  • Strong HVAC and refrigeration technical skills, including understanding of system components and operation.
  • Ability to interpret test results and identify root causes of performance or reliability issues.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting and discussing test results.
  • Ability to work independently and follow detailed testing and inspection procedures.
  • Commitment to safety practices in a manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with chillers or temperature control units in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with structured testing protocols and documentation standards.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data and observations.

Work Environment

The work is performed on 1st shift, with a start time of either 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m., for 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. The facility is clean and temperature-controlled, providing a comfortable environment for hands-on technical work. You will work around manufacturing equipment and HVAC test setups, following standard safety practices and procedures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
