About the Role
The Employee Relations–focused HR Specialist acts as a key support resource for staff across the full employment lifecycle, including onboarding, workplace relations, performance support, and regulatory compliance. This position delivers day-to-day HR guidance while contributing to organizational culture and broader business objectives. The role supports multiple office locations, with occasional travel required, and follows a hybrid work structure.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate onboarding sessions to introduce new team members to workplace policies, culture, and available resources
- Collaborate with leaders to ensure new hires receive structured onboarding and training
- Conduct follow-up check-ins (e.g., 90-day reviews) to support employee integration and engagement
- Provide guidance to newly appointed supervisors, including leadership development, policy interpretation, and support on team management matters
- Offer ongoing coaching to managers on communication, leadership practices, and employee development
- Address workplace concerns and employee relations matters, including advising on performance management processes and corrective actions
- Work with leadership to identify performance issues early and develop appropriate improvement plans
- Partner with senior HR staff and legal advisors on complex or sensitive matters
- Assist in conducting internal workplace reviews and investigations when needed
- Manage offboarding processes, including exit discussions and identifying workforce trends
- Support the planning and execution of performance review cycles, ensuring consistency and timeliness
- Coordinate interim performance check-ins to track progress and engagement
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for HR-related questions and guidance
- Prepare employment-related documentation as required
- Help organize employee engagement and recognition initiatives
- Contribute to the development and improvement of HR programs, policies, and procedures
- Oversee required training programs such as compliance, safety, and workplace conduct
- Stay informed on employment regulations and advise leadership on updates and implications
- Ensure adherence to applicable labor laws and regulatory requirements
- Communicate HR policies and updates clearly to employees
- Support additional projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible HR experience, including direct involvement in employee relations
- Professional HR certification (e.g., PHR or SHRM-CP) preferred
- Experience in a professional services environment is a plus
