Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Manager to serve as a strategic partner to site leadership in a high-end printing, graphics, and imaging environment. You will manage employee relations with consistency and empathy, support health and safety initiatives, and act as a visible, trusted HR presence on the production floor and in the office. The position focuses on building strong relationships, guiding supervisors and managers, and ensuring HR practices align with both legal requirements and customer-specific standards in a high-volume, multi-shift operation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employee relations with consistency, empathy, and clear guidance, ensuring fair and respectful treatment of all employees.
  • Serve as a peer-level HR presence with no direct reports while acting as a key resource and coach for supervisors and managers.
  • Support employee health and safety initiatives by reinforcing policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure accurate timekeeping by monitoring clock-in and clock-out compliance, reviewing time punches, and providing timely reminders to employees as needed.
  • Relay necessary information to payroll regarding timekeeping and related matters, while not holding direct responsibility for payroll processing or garnishments.
  • Partner closely with internal teams and respond promptly to employee HR questions, providing clear, practical guidance.
  • Support new hires by assisting with onboarding activities, including setting up employee accounts and system access and ensuring a smooth transition into the organization.
  • Play a key role in training by outlining and supporting training programs, ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements, and keeping employee training current and well documented.
  • Assist with interviews and talent needs by participating in the selection process and helping to identify and address staffing gaps.
  • Communicate staffing gaps and concerns to leadership and HR resources to ensure appropriate workforce planning and coverage across shifts.
  • Provide strong guidance and support to supervisors and managers, including coaching and cross-training, to enhance leadership capability and consistency.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the General Manager with a relationship-driven approach, contributing HR insight to operational and strategic decisions.
  • Effectively manage leaves, schedules, and benefits in a high-volume, multi-shift environment, ensuring compliance with policies and applicable laws.
  • Demonstrate credibility and confidence by building strong relationships and stepping in to handle sensitive manager-level conversations when needed.
  • Apply a strong understanding of employment law in a manufacturing or production setting to guide decision-making and reduce risk.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely HR documentation related to employee relations, training, and compliance.
Essential Skills
  • Proven experience as a Human Resources professional, including at least 5+ years in a role that partners closely with operational leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a confident, visible leader who provides strong guidance and support to supervisors and managers.
  • Experience coaching and cross-training supervisors and managers to improve leadership effectiveness and consistency.
  • Ability to serve as a strategic partner to a General Manager with a relationship-driven, consultative approach rather than a purely transactional HR style.
  • Experience effectively managing leaves, schedules, and benefits in a high-volume, multi-shift environment.
  • Strong understanding of employment law and practical experience applying it within manufacturing or production settings.
  • Demonstrated credibility and confidence in handling sensitive, manager-level conversations and complex employee relations issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to earn trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear guidance and explanations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in timekeeping oversight, training documentation, and compliance activities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining consistency and fairness in HR practices.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Human Resources degree or SHRM certification is not required but is considered a plus.
  • SHRM certification or other HR-related credentials would be an advantage.
  • Experience working in high-end printing, graphics, imaging, or similar manufacturing environments is beneficial.
  • Comfort working in a multi-state organization with occasional travel to other facilities.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving business needs while maintaining a relationship-focused HR approach.
Work Environment

This position is fully onsite Monday through Friday, with regular office hours typically from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including a lunch break. On occasion, it may be helpful for the Human Resources Manager to stay past 5:00 p.m. to support the transition of the second shift, so comfort with occasional extended hours is important. The role is based in a high-end printing, graphics, and imaging facility operating in a high-volume, multi-shift environment, where you will interact regularly with both office and production employees. The position requires travel to a Green Bay office approximately every other month, typically for about a full work week during each visit. The work setting emphasizes collaboration, strong relationships, and close partnership with operations, offering a stable, long-established environment with modern production capabilities.
