Position Overview
The Human Resources Benefits Coordinator supports the administration of employee benefit programs and HR initiatives. Working closely with the Benefits Manager, this role is responsible for benefits processing, leave administration, compliance reporting, employee support, and maintaining accurate benefits records. This position is ideal for an early-career HR professional with strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Benefits & Workers' Compensation Administration
- Manage monthly benefits billing, reconciliations, and account allocations.
- Process benefit changes, retirement plan updates, and flexible spending enrollments.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, leaves of absence, and retirement plans.
- Assist with Short-Term Disability (STD) claims and payments.
- Track, document, and report workers' compensation claims and workplace injuries.
Compliance & Reporting
- Support ACA reviews and annual 1095-C reporting.
- Assist with year-end benefits calculations for payroll.
- Assist with workers' compensation reporting and regulatory compliance activities.
- Help maintain compliance with HIPAA, FMLA, and related regulations.
Employee Support & Leave Management
- Serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits, leave programs, and workers' compensation.
- Coordinate with carriers, third-party administrators, and case managers.
- Initially focus on leave of absence tracking, documentation, and administration, with opportunities to expand into benefits orientation and employee-facing leave management.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain benefits, retirement, workers' compensation, and audit-related reports.
- Develop census reports, billing reports, reconciliations, dashboards, and data analytics.
- Perform data tracking and reporting using advanced Excel tools.
Program & Administrative Support
- Support wellness initiatives, health fairs, employee orientations, and benefits communication efforts.
- Maintain benefits enrollment systems and records.
- Assist with background checks, drug screenings, safety programs, and other HR-related projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of Benefits Administration, Human Resources, Leave Administration, or related HR experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
- Pivot Tables
- Data analysis and reporting
- Reconciliations
- Reporting dashboards
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working with large datasets and detailed spreadsheets; this role requires more than basic Excel knowledge.

Location: Fully Onsite
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 base salary
