Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager/Director leads and oversees all aspects of the Human Resources function within a full-service hospitality environment. This role partners closely with hotel leadership to support organizational goals while fostering a positive, compliant, and high-performing workplace culture. The Human Resources Manager plays a key role in driving associate engagement, retention, and operational effectiveness through strong people strategies and hands-on leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with overall business and operational objectives
Lead recruitment, selection, onboarding, and orientation processes for all hotel departments
Oversee employee relations, performance management, and associate engagement initiatives
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Administer payroll, compensation, and benefits programs
Design and support training and development programs to meet current and future business needs
Serve as an advisor to department leaders on HR-related matters, policies, and best practices
Monitor key HR metrics and provide reporting and decision support to leadership
Promote consistent application of policies, procedures, and organizational standards
Support associate recognition, communication, and engagement initiatives
Additional Responsibilities
Maintain established HR procedures, documentation, and audit readiness
Respond to associate questions and concerns in a timely, professional manner
Support internal communication efforts, postings, and employee information resources
Maintain a professional, service-oriented approach in all interactions with associates and guests
Adhere to workplace standards related to attendance, appearance, safety, and conduct
Qualifications
Previous experience in a hospitality or service-driven environment strongly preferred
Working knowledge of hotel operations and workforce dynamics
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and support diverse teams
Strong organizational, time management, and delegation abilities
Effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple audiences
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, or prior experience in a senior HR leadership role
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Spanish fluency or conversational ability preferred but not required
Certifications
Professional HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
Physical Requirements
Ability to move throughout the property to support operations and associates
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
Ability to lift or carry items up to 25 pounds as needed
Occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching for inspections or operational support
