We are searching for an organized, customer-focused, and self-motivated person to join our team as Human Resource Assistant 2. In this Human Resource Assistant 2 position, you will perform a variety of administrative and fiscal duties, and support aspects of the workers' compensation program. Your work will involve learning about the Commonwealth’s workers’ compensation programs and the Comptroller Office’s financial procedures for payments, as well as developing your skills with various programs and databases used for maintaining information, tracking transactions, and administering claims. Duties in this role include:


  • Claims Management: Review injury claims and gather information from employees, supervisors, and others involved
  • Administrative Support: Adjust work injury claim records and update tracking systems to maintain accuracy, compile and send monthly reports, and activate prescription cards
  • WRIS Guidance: Provide clear explanations to employees and supervisors about injury procedures and available resources, follow up as needed to ensure all information is received
  • Team Assistance: Provide backup support for the office by distributing and sending mail, answering the phone, responding to general questions via email or calls, and other duties as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. This position currently reports to the office a minimum of once per month with the team, and as required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Human Resource Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of clerical or other comparable experience and one year of beginning level paraprofessional human resource or equal opportunity work; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A final offer of employment may require successful completion of a Pennsylvania State Police background check.
