Job Summary: Housekeeping/Patient Care Attendant – Surgery Department

The Housekeeping/Patient Care Attendant (PCA) supports hospital operations by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment. This non-clinical role is essential to patient care through strict adherence to disease control protocols, facility cleaning, laundry, and inventory management.

Key Qualifications

• Compassion for pets and people
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, lifting, cleaning, patient restraint)
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure

Primary Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect kennels, surgery/prep areas, and public spaces
• Restock supplies and maintain inventory
• Receive and stock shipments
• Perform laundry duties
• Assist with basic care of boarded or hospitalized patients
• Animal restraint
• Surgery set-up/tear down
• Maintain overall facility cleanliness and organization

Schedule
Full-time; includes at least one weekend day per week

Compensation
$18.50–$20.00/hour (DOE) + shift differentials for weekend days.
