Position Overview
The General Manager will lead the strategic, operational, and cultural vision for Austin Proper Hotel, positioning it as the preeminent luxury destination in Austin and a flagship within the Proper portfolio. This role requires an accomplished hospitality executive with deep expertise in luxury hotel operations, award-winning food and beverage, wellness programming, membership models, and high-touch guest experiences.
Proper Hotels is an AI-first organization. The General Manager is expected to be a confident adopter and champion of AI tools — embedding intelligent technology across revenue management, guest communications, F&B operations, people management, and financial controls. Comfort with data-driven decision-making and the ability to build a team culture around AI fluency are non-negotiable expectations of this role.

The General Manager serves as the executive sponsor of Proper OS at the property level, ensuring that every department head operates within this framework and that AI adoption is treated as a leadership competency, not an optional tool.
