Heavy Equipment Operator – Water/Wastewater Construction

Project Locations: Castle Rock & Fort Lupton, CO (will move between projects)

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 40 hours per week | 7am-3:30pm

Job Summary

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will operate heavy equipment to support excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling on active water and wastewater construction projects. You will work closely with the Superintendent and field crew to ensure safe, efficient jobsite operations and successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and similar equipment.
  • Support excavation and trenching for underground pipe installation and site preparation.
  • Perform grading, backfilling, and general earthwork as directed by the foreman or supervisor.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance.
  • Assist field crews with labor tasks as needed to keep work moving safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a strong safety mindset on the jobsite.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the foreman, superintendent, or supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Safety-minded with strong integrity, accountability, and work ethic.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 75 lbs, climbing ladders and sloped terrain, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience operating construction equipment such as excavators, loaders, and skid steers.
  • Experience around underground utilities, pipe installation, or heavy civil construction is a plus.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Littleton, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
