Overview

Presbyterian Homes & Services - Johanna Shores is seeking a Health Information Director for its team. The Health Information Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, evaluating and effectively directing the health information staff and program in order to ensure smooth operation of health information and related systems consistent with regulations and established best practices.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Health Information Director reports to the Site Leader; Clinical Administrator or designee and directly supervises Health Information Specialists and Health Unit Coordinators.

SCHEDULE/HOURS

This position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. This position will be required to be in the weekend Manager On Duty rotation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, evaluate and effectively direct the health information staff and program in order to ensure smooth operation of health information and related systems consistent with regulations and established best practices.• Oversee the implementation of health information processes and procedures related to: health record quality, health information record order and content, ICD-9 coding, record retention, thinning and destruction, and auditing. • Complete ICD-10 coding for all new residents/patients and on an ongoing basis for current residents/patients. • Assist with all health information processes as needed. Oversee and monitor the medical record for completeness and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • ICD-10 coding experience required
  • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) PREFERRED.
  • Health care experience of three years or more; includingmedical terminology, disease process, long term care, short term care, andsubacute care systems.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to health information management.
  • Working knowledge of the Quality Assurance process in the long term care/subacute setting.
  • Knowledge of the Minimum Data Set (MDS)
  • Demonstrated compatibility with the PHS mission and operating philosophies.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language to communicate with all customers.

Pay Range

The estimated starting pay range for this role is $22.12 - $27.65 per hour. This good faith estimate is based upon PHS’s typical starting pay range for this role. Actual pay range depends upon many factors including each individual employee’s qualifications and market conditions and is subject to change.
