Akkodis is seeking a for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Neuromodulation R&D at Location: Valencia, CA for a contract Duration: 22-Months initially.


Pay Range: $75/h- $88/h; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Schedule: (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)


About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Neuromodulation Hardware R&D team. This role focuses on designing and developing advanced electronic hardware for medical devices that improve quality of life for patients living with chronic pain and movement disorders. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle — from concept through commercialization — ensuring innovation, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze analog and digital circuitry for medical systems.
  • Develop and maintain engineering documentation (requirements, schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings).
  • Participate in risk management activities and design reviews.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in software‑controlled analog/digital SMT circuit boards.
  • Perform component‑level testing and analysis using lab equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to refine specifications, improve processes, and optimize yield/cost.
  • Write and manage system and subsystem requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with internal Quality System requirements.
  • Assist in test protocol design, execution, and reporting.
  • Mentor and support technicians and assemblers in technical tasks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with emphasis on product development.
  • Strong background in analog/digital circuit design, simulation, and analysis.
  • Ability to evaluate and select electrical components based on system requirements.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical test instruments (multimeters, oscilloscopes, analyzers, signal generators).
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout review tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Altium Designer for schematic development and PCB layout.
  • Background in regulated industries, ideally Class II/III medical devices.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14708, EN 60601, and FDA Quality System Regulations.
  • Familiarity with firmware development and embedded systems.
  • Background in systems engineering and requirements management.
  • Experience with RF design up to the low GHz range.
