This position is designated as safety-sensitive. As such, a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening are mandatory. The incumbent will also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing throughout the duration of employment.

Responsible for ensuring guests receive high-quality care and have a positive experience at the Boathouse and Lake Lanier Olympic Park. Duties to achieve this mission include, setting up the room to guest specifications, cleaning, and maintaining LLOP, Boathouse ballroom and meeting rooms.



Sets-up meeting rooms, exhibit areas, and areas for scheduled events by setting up chairs, tables, podiums, and risers for all events according to customer requests. May operate lift to perform duties.


Cleans up after events; breaks down set-ups, including vacuuming/mopping floors, picking up trash and emptying trash cans, stacking and storing tables, chairs, podiums, risers, table coverings, etc. Will perform custodial duties on a regularly assigned area or as needed basis.


Assembles, operates and ensures microphones are in good working order as well as laptops, TVs, projector screens, speakers, amplifiers, recorders, etc.


Ensures building operates properly, provides assistance to public attending events, repairs and/or changes set-ups at customers request during events, locks-up building after events. Interacts with customers to determine customer needs and resolve problems or concerns.


Assists in changing light bulbs, painting, changing air filters, repairs minor plumbing and electrical systems, and performs other building maintenance duties as requested by the Guest Experience Coordinator.


Cleans kitchen, picks up trash on grounds and parking area, cleans windows, cleans furniture, cleans restrooms and general areas and performs other janitorial services as required; cleans carpets in rooms and lobby.


Drives vehicle as needed.


Performs other related duties as required.


Additional Requirements for Guest Experience Associate II


Acts as lead during night and weekend events.


Touches up paint after repairs or damage; hangs pictures, maps of fire exits, etc.


Inspects grounds and facilities on a daily basis to identify and resolve issues; performs emergency park and grounds maintenance.


Opens and locks the building each day after assuring no one is left inside.


Works directly with the Plaza and Boathouse Events Managers to make sure that event setup is complete as requested and in a timely manner.


Able to set up AV equipment, sound, and microphones


Responds to immediate safety and/or operational concerns (facility damage, vandalism, etc.) for the purpose of taking appropriate action or notifying appropriate personnel for resolution.


Ability to track maintenance and cleaning supplies and order new/additional supplies when needed.


Education and Experience:


High School Diploma or GED preferred.


Excellent customer service skills a must.


Ability to read and write and interpret and follow verbal and written instructions.


Additional Requirements for Guest Experience Associate II


Three years of building and grounds maintenance experience.


Ability to operate and use audio visual equipment, i.e. microphones, projectors, laptops, TVs, etc., and other basic hand tools.


Licenses and Certifications:


Valid Class C Driver's License preferred.


If driving City vehicle or driving personal vehicle for City business, incumbent must possess a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques such as solutions to use.


Skill in operation of small hand tools such as drills and power saws.


Skill in operation of large power equipment such as vacuum cleaner, backpack blower, and floor scrubber.


Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.


Ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with the public.


Knowledge of current health, sanitation and safety codes.


Ability to exercise care in the use of cleaning material.


Ability to perform heavy lifting and routine leaning.
