Grounds Worker II

Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform semi-skilled grounds maintenance services; train and provide work direction to a crew.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

The Grounds Worker II classification perform semi-skilled gardening work on school grounds and landscaped areas. Incumbents are assigned lead duties. Grounds Worker I incumbents are assigned to routine to semi-skilled duties in a groundskeeping crew.

Perform semiskilled grounds maintenance services; train and provide work direction to a crew.

Perform gardening, pruning and grounds work on school grounds and landscaped areas.

Operate hedge trimmer, trucks, mower lawn mower, gang mower and edger, hand tools and related equipment; make routine adjustments and minor repairs to equipment.

Mix and apply herbicides and pesticides as needed.

Perform preventive maintenance on equipment; assure the safe operation of machinery and equipment.

Prepare and line athletic fields.

Perform general custodial duties incidental to groundskeeping activities;

Clean stadiums according to established time lines.

Assist plant workers and other school personnel in performing deliveries setting up rooms for meetings and

related duties as needed.

Maintain routine records as directed.

Perform related duties as assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Two years of experience with working with grounds equipment and performing grounds maintenance services.

Any other combination of training and/or experience which demonstrates the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, and abilities may be considered.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Valid California Class C driver's license.
