Salary is negotiable within the listed range, dependent upon qualifications (directly related experience).
- Maintain closed portion of landfill cap (bush hogging, erosion control)
- Maintain landfill office grounds (mowing, weed eating, etc.)
- Building maintenance
- Operate County vehicle to transport small equipment
- Perform minor equipment repairs (greasing mowers, sharpening blades, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED equivalent and 6 months of experience (paid or unpaid) in farming, grounds maintenance, or lawncare
- A valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (Driving is an essential function of this position)
- Ability to operate equipment such as tractors, bush hogs, and mowers in a safe manner on slopes
- Ability to work outside and in inclement weather, and around solid wastes and gases
- This position is considered heavy work; lifting up to 100 pounds on a frequent basis
