Main responsibilities:

• Support the Grocery Manager in overseeing daily operations of the Grocery Department, including Frozen, Dairy, and Liquor/Beer.
• Supervise, train, and support grocery associates to ensure safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations.
• Execute ordering, receiving, pricing, stocking, and merchandising to maintain product availability and presentation standards.
• Champion company customer service programs and professionally resolve customer questions or complaints.
• Maintain inventory control, minimize shrink, and ensure removal of out-of-code or discontinued items.
• Open and close the store and ensure compliance with cash-handling and sales accounting procedures.
• Ensure adherence to company safety, sanitation, security, and loss prevention policies.
• Act as Person in Charge (PIC), overseeing total store operations in the absence of the Store Director and Grocery Manager.

• Ability to supervise associates and provide direction with minimal oversight
• Ability to assess situations, make decisions, and react to business needs
• Ability to operate and train others on ordering systems and register equipment
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle interruptions effectively
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical job tasks

Other requirements: 

• Ability to lift, move, and stack items weighing up to approximately 80 pounds
• Ability to use ladders, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other store equipment
• Willingness to work in a safety-sensitive position
• Compliance with company attendance, grooming, and dress code standards
• Ability to follow emergency procedures during equipment, system, or safety incidents
