Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Grinder to join our team for the 1st shift, working from 5 am to 1:30 pm. The role involves setting up and operating precision cylindrical machines and performing grinding tasks on parts according to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will ensure high-quality workmanship using precision measuring instruments and various machinists' hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate precision cylindrical machines.
• Perform precision cylindrical grinding of parts per customer specifications.
• Ensure quality workmanship using precision measuring instruments and machinists' hand tools.
• Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
• Fit and assemble precision parts into the grind machine.
• Determine the material, parts, and equipment required.
• Follow scheduled workflow assignments to meet customer demands and production requirements.

Essential Skills

• Experience with grinders, production processes, and grinding techniques.
• Proficiency in machine shop and machining operations.
• Ability to perform general labor and machine operation tasks.
• Competence in reading and interpreting blueprints.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills and English reading skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, tech sheets, and purchase orders.
• Experience using precision measuring/inspection equipment such as micrometers and height gauges.
• Full knowledge and experience working with grind machines, including Cincinnati Centerless Grinder and CNC Studer grinder.
• Aerospace industry experience preferred.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed.

Work Environment

The position operates during the 1st shift from 5 am to 1:30 pm in a machine shop setting. Employees are expected to follow safety protocols and may be required to wear appropriate protective equipment as necessary.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Santa Ana,CA.
