What You'll Get To Do
Panasonic is seeking a Government & Community Affairs Specialist, reporting to the Senior Manager, Government & Community Affairs for Panasonic Energy. The Government & Community Affairs Specialist plays a key role in strengthening Panasonic Energy’s presence, relationships, and impact within the communities it serves. This position manages community outreach initiatives, government relations activities, sponsored events, and employee engagement programs while serving as a primary liaison to community partners, government officials, and internal stakeholders.
Community Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including state and local government officials, nonprofits, community organizations, and residents.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for state and local government officials, nonprofit partners, sponsorship inquiries, and community stakeholders.
- Represent Panasonic Energy at 8–10 community, industry, and partner events per month, acting as an ambassador for the organization.
Event Planning & Sponsored Activities
- Coordinate ticketing and manage allocations for sponsored events, sporting partnerships, and community engagements.
- Plan and execute employee participation in 12+ sponsored events annually, including invitations, logistics, communication, and scheduling.
- Lead planning and logistics for community-based projects, partnerships, and sponsorships aligned with organizational goals.
Government Relations & Policy Support
- In close coordination with the Panasonic Government Affairs team, help engage with state and local government officials to strengthen partnerships and advocate for company interests.
- Support legislative and policy-related activities, including legislative tours, meetings with lobbyists, chambers of commerce, and community organizations.
- Track and report state lobbying activities as needed.
Volunteerism & Community Programs
- Lead volunteer initiatives such as Month of Service, intern engagement activities, holiday programs, and year-round volunteer efforts.
- Coordinate seasonal community drives, including blood drives, food collections, and family adoption programs.
Communications & Content Development
- Capture event photos and collaborate with social media teams to create engaging content that highlights community involvement.
- Assist in developing communication materials such as press releases, newsletters, social media posts, and website content.
Strategy, Reporting & Impact Measurement
- Support the implementation of strategic community affairs initiatives and partnerships.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of community programs, collecting data and feedback to identify improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of community affairs activities, budgets, partnerships, and reporting requirements.
- Stay informed about local issues and trends affecting community relationships.
Travel Requirement:
- Up to 10% travel required
- Ability to take day trips required
- Ability to represent Panasonic Energy at evening or weekend community activities
