Job Title: GNC Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Sr or Staff-level GNC Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of hypersonic flight control systems. In this role, you will actively contribute to the design, development, requirements verification, and test execution for hypersonic vehicle flight control systems, evaluating a broad range of technical data.

Responsibilities

• Develop and evaluate advanced algorithms to satisfy Guidance, Navigation, and Control requirements.
• Create hypersonic plant modeling and analysis tools.
• Document GNC designs through the creation of Algorithm Description Documents (ADDs).
• Perform analyses to verify that algorithm designs meet requirements.
• Contribute to the overall flight control system design, development, implementation, integration, and testing.
• Develop engineering tools as needed to complete tasks.
• Communicate regularly and comprehensively with Vehicle Management System and GNC Leads.
• Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and commitment fulfillment.
• Travel as necessary to support departmental activities.

Essential Skills

• Expertise in dynamics, algorithms, integration, simulation, and requirements analysis.
• Proficiency in Matlab Simulink and GNC algorithm development.
• Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics and flight testing.
• Ability to develop software using Git and C/C++.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with aircraft, missile, and/or launch vehicle development.
• Expertise in guidance algorithm synthesis, implementation, and analysis.
• Proficiency in control and autopilot design and analysis.
• Experience in navigation algorithm synthesis, implementation, and analysis.
• Experience in dynamic system modeling of fixed wing, missile, and/or hypersonic vehicles.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges and provide guidance to varied audiences.
• Experience with software development processes and methodologies.
• Advanced degree with a technical focus in GNC-relevant areas.
• TS/SCI security clearance.

This role offers a hands-on, on-site engineering environment, primarily involving office and lab work. This is a Permanent position based out of Mojave, CA.

The pay range for this position is $101000.00 - $206000.00/yr.
