Summary


Credit Agricole CIB is seeking an Associate I to work within its Global Investment Banking Department in New York, NY on the origination and execution of Mergers & Acquisitions.


This M&A Associate position requires strong leadership qualities, good business “instinct”, and the ability to work independently and on many projects with different team members.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with various sectors and product teams to execute buy-side and sell-side M&A
  • Extensive financial modeling in preparing company-specific financial analysis and conducting valuation analysis using various methodologies
  • Review valuation models including comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, discounted cash flow, leveraged buyout analysis, merger plans
  • Manage projects in a client-facing role, including liaising with clients, potential buyers, clients’ other advisors, and team members from across the bank
  • Participate in business and financial due diligence involving interaction with management teams, accountants, lawyers, consultants and customers
  • Liaise with coverage, sales and trading professionals and other product groups in preparing transactions and other ad hoc requests
  • Training and supervision of junior resource

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
  • MBA a plus
  • CFA a plus


Experience Required

  • Min 5 years of Investment Banking related experience, or in a transaction services team with a strong modeling exposure
  • Exposure to infrastructure modeling is a significant plus


Skills & Knowledge Requirements

  • Quantitative and technical
  • Strong technical skills – Well established knowledge of financial modeling (Discounted Cash Flows, Merger Models and LBO analysis)with an ability to work independently on financial models
  • Good understanding of what each situation calls for in terms of financial analysis – ability to make decision on financial analysis and capacity to teach analysts to develop modeling and analytical skills
  • Communication and business development
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Translate senior members’ transaction ideas into a written document – ability to elaborate pitches with some guidance from senior team members
