🚀 HIRING: GIS Technician I (IT) | Cedar Rapids, IA
Are you a detail-oriented GIS professional with a background in utility engineering or mapping? We are looking for a GIS Technician I to join our team in Cedar Rapids for a year-long contract (with potential for extension)!
💰 Pay Rate Range: $36.00 – $37.80/hr on W2
📍 Location: Cedar Rapids, IA
🗓️ Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension)
The Role:
You’ll be at the heart of our data integrity, performing quality control on facility and land base data. From reconciling source documents to mapping backlog work orders using advanced editor tools, your work will ensure our field teams have accurate, high-quality cartographic products.
Key Responsibilities:
✅ Perform QA/QC on facility and land base data.
✅ Map and close work orders/requests (poles, gas/water mains, etc.).
✅ Maintain switch diagrams and update automated area maps.
✅ Collaborate with field personnel to ensure accurate as-built closing processes.
What You Bring:
🔹 2+ years of technical training in utility engineering (beyond high school).
🔹 4+ years of experience in utility construction, engineering, or mapping.
🔹 Familiarity with electric, gas, and landbase systems.
🔹 Preferred experience with ArcFM, ADMS, or Maximo.
🔹 Strong cartographic skills and a valid driver’s license.
