Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled bar saw operator to join our Operations Team in Southington, CT. The ideal candidate will safely operate saws to cut materials to customer specifications, ensuring all safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize safety in all tasks.
  • Efficiently organize work orders to process materials.
  • Transport materials throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes.
  • Set up machines by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds.
  • Measure materials using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Ensure processed materials are from the correct source and meet specifications.
  • Conduct first piece and in-process inspections according to the quality sampling plan.
  • Stack and sort finished products for packaging.
  • Pack and protect materials for shipment.
  • Clean saws following maintenance procedures.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by the supervisor.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in warehouse operations and material handling.
  • Proficient in operating forklifts and cranes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Previous machining experience or related duties is strongly preferred.
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to read and understand English.
  • Basic math skills to convert decimals and fractions, and accurately use tape measures and calipers.
  • Dependable, punctual, and capable of working well with others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, landscaping, or general labor is beneficial.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform various tasks.
  • History of working safely and productively.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs or more.

Work Environment

Work in a fast-paced, clean, and extremely safety-oriented environment. The role requires operating heavy machinery in a casual and comfortable dress code. Must be able to lift 75 lbs and operate effectively during the 2nd shift from 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southington, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.54 - $27.87/hr.
