Job Description

This role focuses on operating production and packaging equipment to safely bag and seal 50-pound ingredient bags on 3rd shift. You will work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring products are packaged correctly, equipment runs smoothly, and quality and safety standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

  • Bag 50-pound ingredient products accurately and consistently according to production requirements.
  • Operate and monitor a sealer machine to ensure bags are properly sealed and do not leak.
  • Handle and lift 50+ pound bags repeatedly throughout the shift while following safe lifting techniques.
  • Support general production activities, including basic machine operation, packaging, and material handling.
  • Follow all manufacturing, food preparation, and FDA-related guidelines and procedures as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in a dusty and odor-intensive production environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a small team of 3–5 coworkers in close quarters to meet production goals.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of equipment and personal protective measures.
  • Perform overtime as required, including extended 10-hour shifts and occasional 6- or 7-day workweeks during peak periods.
  • Operate or assist with forklifts and boiler-related tasks if trained and assigned, in line with facility procedures.
Essential Skills

  • Ability to consistently lift 50+ pounds throughout the shift.
  • Experience in a production or general labor environment.
  • Familiarity with basic machine operation in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with packaging or bagging processes.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a dusty and smelly environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work 3rd shift (10:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) with required overtime.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work extended hours, including up to 6 days per week and occasional 7-day stretches.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a machine operator, packaging operator, or general production worker.
  • Forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with boiler operations; a 2B Boilers License or higher is preferred and may qualify for higher pay.
  • Background in food preparation or food manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of FDA or other regulated manufacturing standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in very close working quarters with a small team.
  • Strong work ethic and comfort with repetitive, physically demanding tasks.
Why Work Here?

You will join a stable manufacturing operation that rewards hard work with clear incentives and growth opportunities. The role offers shift differentials for off-shifts and structured bonus opportunities, recognizing your commitment and reliability. You will work with a close-knit team in a setting where contributions are visible and appreciated, and where performance and additional qualifications, such as boiler licensing, can lead to higher earning potential over time.

Work Environment

This is a full-time manufacturing role on 3rd shift, scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with overtime required. Overtime can include 10-hour days and up to 6 days per week, and at certain times of the year—typically around September—work may extend to 7 consecutive days. The facility operates multiple shifts, and off-shifts receive additional pay differentials after direct hire. The production floor is dusty and has strong odors, and work takes place in very close quarters with a small team of 3–5 people per shift. The work is physically demanding and involves frequent lifting of 50+ pound bags and operating packaging and sealing equipment, with potential use of forklifts and interaction with boiler systems depending on training.
