Job Title: General Production Worker – Electronic Assembly
Job Description

This role focuses on electronic assembly of switches used in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare applications. You will work with small components, hand tools, and PC boards at your own workstation, performing precise, detail-oriented assembly tasks throughout your shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic assembly of switches for use in military, government, agriculture, and healthcare products.
  • Work with small parts and components, using strong hand–eye coordination to complete precise assembly tasks.
  • Use hand tools and small precision tools to build and assemble various component parts.
  • Gather and organize all materials and components needed to complete assigned assembly work.
  • Place components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs) accurately and consistently.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to ensure assemblies meet quality and production standards.
  • Maintain focus and attention to detail while working at your own station for extended periods.
  • Stand and sit as required throughout the day to complete assembly tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Meet daily production expectations while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Follow all manufacturing and workplace procedures, including safety and quality protocols.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working with small parts and components with strong hand–eye dexterity.
  • Ability to use hand tools and small precision tools for assembly work.
  • Comfort placing components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Ability to stand on your feet and sit for extended periods throughout the day as tasks require.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on repetitive, precision-based tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to work significant overtime, approximately 3–4 hours daily (50–60 hours per week) when required.
  • Availability for either 1st shift (typically 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., with openness to starting as early as 5:30 a.m.) or 2nd shift (3:45 p.m. – 12:15 a.m.).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Prior electronic assembly experience is beneficial.
  • Soldering experience is a plus.
  • Solder certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with pick-and-place equipment is a plus and may influence compensation.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments and production lines is helpful.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision once trained.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing environment organized in long rows, each with about five workstations in a row. The culture is laid back yet performance-focused, with leadership expecting you to understand your tasks and complete them reliably without heavy oversight. The role is primarily performed at your own station, involving both standing and sitting throughout the day. Hand tools and small precision tools are used regularly for assembly tasks. Health and safety protocols include temperature checks and brief medical screening questions upon arrival and a second temperature check toward the end of the shift. The environment is structured and production-oriented, with clear expectations for quality and output.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Grange, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
