General Production Worker

Job Description

This entry-level general production role focuses on operating plastic molding machines to produce parts such as landscape structures and fuel tanks for recreational vehicles, tractors, and skid steers. You will start with basic assembly tasks and gradually develop your skills in machine operation, inspection, and packaging. As you gain confidence with the trained material, you are encouraged to express interest in advancing into a press operator role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate plastic molding machines to manufacture high-quality plastic parts for various applications.
  • Perform basic assembly tasks, following work instructions and training guidelines.
  • Assist with production activities, including loading materials, monitoring machines, and supporting press operators as needed.
  • Conduct visual inspections of plastic products to identify defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Package finished products accurately and securely for shipment or further processing.
  • Use basic hand tools safely and correctly as required for assembly and production tasks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient production environment.
  • Communicate questions or issues clearly to supervisors or team members to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working around machinery and production equipment.
  • Demonstrate reliable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production operations.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to operate or learn to operate plastic molding machines and related production equipment.
  • Capability to perform repetitive production, assembly, and packaging tasks with attention to detail.
  • Skill in visual inspection of plastic products to identify defects or irregularities.
  • Basic experience or comfort with machine operation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to communicate questions and concerns clearly to team members and supervisors.
  • Willingness and desire to learn new tasks and grow into more advanced roles, such as press operator.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with molding machines or plastic manufacturing is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools in a production or assembly setting.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Interest in developing skills in machine operation and progressing within the production team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a plastics manufacturing facility that is well lit and kept clean to support safe and efficient operations. The environment can be hot during the summer months due to the nature of plastic production and molding equipment. You will spend most of your shift on your feet, working around machinery, assembly areas, and packaging stations, following all safety guidelines while collaborating with a production team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Foley, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
