(SES) is recruiting for a client company's Casino-Restaurant-RV Park-Convenient Store General Manager role to oversee operations of this multi-business unit and multi-specialty Casino/Resort in Reno, Nevada. Reporting to a CEO "Admiral" and COO, the motto is "Be the Captain Of Your Own Ship" with a genuine balance of responsibility and authority. The current General Manager is retiring after 10 years tenure with the company. This is an on-site role and not remote nor hybrid; both guest service and team member engagement are critical standards of the organization to uphold in this leadership role, which is people-facing on a daily basis.
The ideal hire for General Manager would be an Assistant General Manager working for a small casino seeking to move up in career for a long term tenure with this organization. Slot Manager or Directors are also considered proper backgrounds for achieving success in this role. Client is seeking a dynamic, high energy, fast paced General Manager to run the operations of one store with multiple business units that are all profitable.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for planning, organizes, and directs the overall activities of the casino including budgeting and financial planning, P&L management, strategic planning, supervision of casino employees to include 7 direct reports, and development of policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for, in partnership with property executive team, ensuring compliance with State Gaming Commission regulations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance or other related field is required.
5+ years of casino management experience is required. Can be Assistant General Manager, Slot Manager, Restaurant Manager, to name a few prior roles that are applicable experience for this career opportunity. Must bring experience and knowledge of casino policies & procedures, gaming compliance and internal controls.
Proven interpersonal communications skills are required to include team leadership communications and effective public communications in customer relations/guest service.
Demonstrated professional leadership and management abilities that includes engagement with direct reports on a daily basis and mentoring through regular meetings with team members and staff.
Strengths in strategic and financial planning, development and organizational management.
Prior experience managing a department P&L.
Must read, write and speak English fluently.
Salary is competitive and budgeted $100K-$150K, and will be offered fairly depending on experience (DOE) and salary history. Bonus eligible at 20% salary, annually. Other benefits include personal time off (PTO), medical/dental/vision coverage, store discounts and more.
