Spread Bagelry is seeking a General Manager (GM) for our Mount Pleasant, SC location who will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and leading a team of passionate foodservice professionals. This role requires a high level of energy, attention to detail, and a genuine love for hospitality. The GM drives performance by coaching team members, maintaining operational excellence, and managing the business to meet and exceed financial goals.

 

Responsibilities:

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Lead by example in delivering warm, consistent, high-quality service.
  • Ensure all food and beverage items meet Spread Bagelry’s brand and quality standards.
  • Monitor restaurant cleanliness, safety, and sanitation.
  • Manage daily checklists, opening/closing procedures, and shift execution.
  • Troubleshoot service issues in real time with a guest-first mindset.


Team Leadership

  • Hire, train, coach, and develop all team members, including assistant managers and shift leaders.
  • Build a positive, team-oriented culture aligned with company values.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Ensure all staff are properly trained on food safety, procedures, and brand standards.


Financial & Business Performance

  • Manage labor costs, COGS, and controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budget goals.
  • Analyze daily/weekly/monthly P&L reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Create and execute plans to drive sales, including local marketing and community engagement.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, place orders, and minimize waste.


Compliance & Brand Integrity

  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and labor laws.
  • Maintain accurate records for scheduling, payroll, and operational checklists.
  • Represent the Spread Bagelry brand with integrity and professionalism at all times.

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of restaurant management experience (fast-casual or QSR preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and hold a team accountable.
  • Strong financial acumen and comfort working with KPIs, P&L, and budgets.
  • Experience with Toast, XtraChef, and/or 7shifts a plus
  • High energy, hands-on leadership style with excellent communication skills.
  • ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
