About the OpportunityWe are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial General Manager to lead and scale our seafood preparation and distribution operations. Based in the Greater Bay Area, we pride ourselves on sourcing high-quality products and delivering excellence to our partners.
This is a pivotal role for a leader who excels at traditional logistics and wholesale management but possesses the vision to launch and scale a modern Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) vertical. You will oversee everything from regional truck routes to the implementation of nationwide shipping technologies.
Potential to be an Executive Partner and participate in ownership in the future. Experience raising startup or new business funding a plus.
Also high probability to be involved in industry specific roll-up and / or M&A.
● Oversee the daily preparation and distribution of seafood products to local restaurants and retailers.
● Manage and optimize logistics for existing truck routes serving the Central Coast, Palo Alto, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
● Ensure rigorous quality control and food safety standards are met during preparation and transit.
2. Strategic Growth: Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Launch● Lead the "Startup" phase of our DTC business line, expanding our reach from regional delivery to California-wide and nationwide shipping.
● Research and implement innovative packaging solutions and cold-chain transport methods to ensure product integrity over long distances.
● Develop the operational framework for high-volume, small-parcel seafood fulfillment.
3. Sourcing & Procurement● Manage relationships with fishers, docks, and suppliers to ensure a consistent supply of premium products.
● Negotiate pricing and contracts to maintain healthy margins while upholding quality standards.
● Stay ahead of seasonal trends and market fluctuations in the seafood industry.
4. Operational Leadership● Manage a diverse team including warehouse staff, drivers, and administrative personnel.
● Implement KPIs focused on delivery efficiency, waste reduction, and customer satisfaction.
● Oversee budgeting, P&L management, and facility compliance.
● Experience: 7+ years in operations or general management, ideally within the food/beverage or perishables industry (seafood experience is a major plus).
● Logistics Expertise: Proven track record in managing fleet logistics and/or cold-chain shipping.
● Entrepreneurial Mindset: Experience in a startup environment or launching a new business unit (specifically DTC/E-commerce) is preferred.
● Procurement Skills: Strong negotiation skills and experience in perishables buying or supply chain management.
● Leadership: Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
