Description

CP&P makes the concrete piping that is below the streets and man holes. Reading a tape measure is mandatory.People with concrete experience or construction is a major plus. All applicants must be able to read a tape measure and understand basic blue prints. They will be lifting up to 50lbs. They must have attention to detail. They could be assembling rebar to fit inside the mold for the pipe. This requires basic hand eye coordination and being comfortable using hand tools and power tools. each project can be different and they will need to understand the build out off of the prints. They will be moving and dragging finished parts to the finishing area. At this point they could be using hand sanders to finish the concrete once dried fully.

Most imporant thing is reliability and work ethic. Does not have to be a consturciotn worker they accept warehouse workers but need to be familiar with working in a manufacturing facility, exposed to elements. Need to be a quick learner.PLUS: construction/landscaping experinece, Operate hand and power tools, read a tape measure They pour their own concrete, put it in forms for underground utility work, pour their concrete for manholes and sidewalks in DC, do a lot of municipal heavy highway construction jobs. Will be cross trained in multiple divisions. FIRST DAY: Ask for Randy Bise, make sure they have their steel toes, will be given all their other PPE, Safety orientation with Randy Bise the production manager, will be given a tour of the facility then placed with a lead to observe daily duites. FIRST WEEK: more of watching observing learning, then after hit the ground running and do work hands on**Open to Spanish Speakers**

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
