Job Title: General Laborer – Custom Manufacturing
Job Description

This role works in a custom manufacturing shop producing expansion joints. You will follow established procedures to build products, maintain high quality standards, and adhere to all safety protocols. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to learn new processes quickly, and comfort working with your hands in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble expansion joints in a custom manufacturing setting according to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Operate production and press machines safely and efficiently to meet daily output goals.
  • Use hand tools and basic equipment to perform assembly, wrapping, and other manual tasks with precision and care.
  • Read and interpret tape measurements accurately and perform basic math equations as needed during production.
  • Complete required production and documentation writing accurately to record work performed and product specifications.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper use of machinery, tools, and personal protective equipment.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for quality, identifying and reporting any defects or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Stand for extended periods while performing repetitive tasks in a production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to learn new processes, improve workflows, and meet production targets.
Essential Skills
  • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal procedures accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time in a production setting.
  • Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Comfort performing basic math equations related to measurements and production.
  • Ability to operate machines and production equipment safely after training.
  • Ability to use hand tools effectively for assembly and manufacturing tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with general labor in a shop or manufacturing environment.
  • Background in machine operation or machine operating, including press machines.
  • Experience in production, assembly, or manufacturing operations.
  • Comfort with documentation writing related to production or quality.
  • Experience working with your hands, craftsmanship, or wrapping processes.
  • Willingness to learn new manufacturing processes and techniques.

Work Environment

The role is based in a custom manufacturing shop that is non-climate-controlled, so you must be comfortable working in a hot environment due to the machinery. You will work around production and press machines, hand tools, and other manufacturing equipment, performing hands-on tasks throughout your shift. The position requires standing for long periods and working Monday through Friday on one of three shifts: 1st shift from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, 2nd shift from 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM, or 3rd shift from 9:30 PM to 6:00 AM. The environment is fast-paced, safety-focused, and centered on teamwork and consistent production output.

This is a Contract position based out of Lodi, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
