General Laborer / Batch Mixer

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated General Laborer to join our team at the waste water treatment plant. This position offers a unique schedule of working from 6 AM to 6 PM with a pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, followed by 3 days on, and 3 days off. The role is entry-level and involves running waste water operations, with tasks being less complex than those in higher-level positions. Responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring refinery plant equipment and processes according to established procedures and safety protocols.
• Monitor and maintain process parameters, such as temperature, pressure, flow rates, and chemical concentrations, to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow a schedule to check tanks, take samples to the lab, document work, and add chemicals as needed.
• Communicate with other plant personnel and management to coordinate activities and ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Complete documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records, and safety reports.
• Participate in training and development programs to maintain and improve skills.

Essential Skills

• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and walk for 12-hour shifts.
• Machine operating experience or mechanical aptitude (e.g., working on cars, construction).

• Batch mixing experience
• Experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, mixing, compounding, chemical handling, labelling, and chemical processes.

Work Environment

The role involves working both outdoors and in a plant environment. Due to the use of various chemicals, there is a noticeable smell, though it is not excessively strong within the plant. Expect a hands-on and dynamic work setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Chicago, IN.

The pay range for this position is $25.47 - $25.47/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in East Chicago,IN.
