General Laborer / Mechanically Inclined Helper – Long Term Role

Job Overview

We’re hiring reliable, hands-on individuals for a short-term, project-based role supporting a local facility relocation. This position is ideal for general laborers or mechanically inclined individuals who enjoy physical work, helping skilled tradespeople, and staying active throughout the day. No specialized experience required—willingness to learn and strong work ethic are key.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assist skilled team members and machinists by moving parts, tools, and equipment as needed
• Run parts and tools between work areas to keep operations running smoothly
• Perform basic visual inspections to check for obvious defects or issues
• Use simple measuring tools (training provided) for basic checks when required
• Help with loading, unloading, lifting, carrying, and staging materials and equipment
• Support a short-term relocation project by moving items between two nearby locations
• Organize materials and keep work areas clean, safe, and efficient
• Follow directions from supervisors and work cooperatively with a small team
• Perform general labor tasks including cleaning, organizing, and material handling
• Drive between nearby facilities using your personal vehicle when needed
• Follow all safety rules and proper lifting techniques

What We’re Looking For

• Mechanically inclined or comfortable working with tools and equipment
• Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 lbs safely
• Comfortable being on your feet and performing physical work most of the shift
• Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
• Willingness to travel between Chaska and Shakopee during the project
• Team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Previous experience in general labor, warehouse, production, moving, or construction
• Mechanical, automotive, or shop experience
• Familiarity with basic measuring tools (training available)
• Experience helping skilled trades or working in a shop environment

Work Environment

You’ll work in a clean, well-lit, climate-controlled facility, with some time spent outdoors while moving materials between locations. The role involves frequent lifting, standing, walking, and hands-on tasks. Safety, organization, and teamwork are top priorities throughout the project.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, MN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Shakopee,MN.
