General Counsel

The Opportunity:

We are representing a premier, long-standing private equity real estate group in the Colorado Front Range. With over 80 years of collective experience and a proven track record of building lasting value, our client is looking for a General Counsel to join their executive circle.

This isn’t just a "contract review" role. This is a high-impact opportunity to build a legal function from the ground up, serving as the principal legal officer and a key strategic partner to the Executive Team.

The Role:

As General Counsel, you will balance high-level strategic risk management with hands-on execution across the entire investment lifecycle.

• Real Estate Legal: Lead the drafting and negotiation of purchase contracts, JV agreements, lease agreements, and financing/lending documents.
• Corporate Governance: Oversee entity formation, cap table management, and board-level compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Outside Counsel Management: Take ownership of the legal budget, deciding what stays in-house and managing external specialists effectively.
• Regulatory & Compliance: Partner with the Investor Relations team to ensure the firm stays ahead of federal and state regulatory changes.

Who You Are:

• Experience: 5+ years of legal practice, with a heavy focus on commercial real estate and corporate law.
• Background: Either prior in-house experience or law firm experience with significant client-facing responsibility.
• Credentials: JD from an accredited law school and an active Colorado Bar Membership. (Licensure in Intermountain or Southwest states is a major plus).
• Mindset: You are a "business-minded" attorney. You don’t just find problems; you find pragmatic, efficient paths to "Yes."
